First day of school is finally here…I’m beside myself with…well…i don’t even know I am having so many emotions. I am here at the house, by myself! Weird! I hope they both have a great time today. It was their very first bus ride ever! I had to take a picture of the middle school bus from my front porch with my biggest lens…I didn’t want to embarrass Colton! I met a couple of parents at the bus stop, yes me! I hope I survive until 3:00 when I get the scoop!

June Cleaver
Finally the kids get to go to school for their first day tomorrow! Colton and Camden are really looking forward to it. I am happy for them but sad for me. They have never gone to school without me before. It’s going to be a big change for everyone but after visiting their new schools, I know I made the right choice. We love them! To get us started, we made four different kinds of muffins today. Some to have for breakfast in the next couple of days, some to freeze. There are chocolate chocolate chip, apple cinnamon, blueberry and banana nut. Very Suzy Homemaker if i do say so…I’m doing four kinds of pancakes tomorrow!

Swan Point vs Irene
Thanks to Hurricane Irene, there is no school on the very first day:-( Not good! The kids are pretty disappointed. I think they were really excited about starting off and meeting new friends. We toured around the neighborhood to see the damage. Luckily our house was fine, just some yard work that we got taken care of yesterday. Others weren’t as lucky…they even took a house off the market that we were planning on looking at on Wednesday because of a tree through the roof. So sad…I hope they get it taken care of quickly, I really liked that house. More importantly, there weren’t any injuries and that’s what matters most. Here are some pictures, the first few are of our good friend Jon’s house around the corner.

The End…
…of the vacation pictures that is! With Hurricane Irene arriving, I have had plenty of free time today to edit pictures. I can’t believe summer is over and the kids are heading back to school Monday morning (weather permitting lol). I am really struggling with being home away from my bestest work buddies :-( I’m hoping that once school starts and I have time to get my to-do list started and I start volunteering at Higdon, I’ll feel better. Only time will tell…
